December 2012 Happenings at Otranto

The holiday season is nearly here!  Come by the Otranto Regional Library this December to celebrate with several cool programs guranteed to fill you with holiday cheer!  NOTE:  The library will be closed December 24, 25, and 26th in observance of the holiday season. 

Storytimes
Wee Reads (Mondays; December 3, 10, and 17 at 10:30 am)
For children 0-23 months with an adult.  Age appropriate stories, flannel boards, and finger plays.

Time for Twos (Tuesdays; December 4, 11, and 18 at 10:30 am)
For two year olds with an adult. Age appropriate stories, flannel boards, and finger plays.
(NOTE:  Child must be two by start date)

Preschool Storytime (Wednesdays; December 5, 12, and 19 at 10:30 am) -
     Age appropriate stories, flannel boards, and finger plays.
 (NOTE:  Child must be three by start date)

Preschool Special
 Holiday Delight Storytime (Thursday, December 13 at 10:30 am)
'Twas the night before...  Get prepared for a wonderful holiday season with a selection of stories, songs, and games.

School Age Special
Let's Learn About Kwanzaa (Wednesday, December 19 at 4:00 pm)
Kwanzaa is a seven day celebration of family, community, and culture.  Join us as we explore the Kwanzaa symbols and cultural traditions.

Saturday PLAY Programs
(all Saturday programs begin at 11:00 am)

December 1: STAR Therapy Dogs 
Read a holiday story to a certified therapy dog.  STAR therapy dogs and their handlers love a good story.

December 8:  Movie:  Arthur Christmas
  How does Santa deliver all of those presents in one night?  Arthur must complete an urgent mission before the dawn of Christmas morning.

December 15:  Yuletide Decorating Fun
  Calling all kids!  Drop in and listen to holiday music while decorating a sugar cone treat.

December 22:  Gingerbread Friends
  Hear the story of the Gingerbread Boy and create a garland of gingerbread people for a holiday home decoration.

December 29:  Let's Learn About Kwanzaa
