Pirate
Tales for Children & Families - Charleston’s Golden Age of
Piracy
Eric Lavender of Charleston Pirate Tours, along with his parrot,
Captain Bob, will present a bevy of pirate tales and interactive fun. This
lively after school program includes telling of local pirate lore, ghost
stories, an overview of Charleston’s pirate history, as well as balloon art,
photos with Bob, and a little education on exotic birds. Come explore how piracy
impacted Charles Towne with this dynamic duo! (Sponsored by the

World Music for Children
& Families – Citizens of the World
Seona
McDowell, two time winner of Australia’s OZ Music Award for best female folk
singer, will delight audiences with her wide repertoire of traditional and
contemporary tunes from around the world played on guitar and autoharp. This
lively program celebrates the similarities and differences of people and
cultures across the globe through songs and stories and teaches us how to be
good world citizens. Performance is perfectly suited for grades PreK-8.
