It may be a drizzly April morning, but May is just around the corner.  If you are looking for something to do while waiting for those May flowers to bloom, stop by the Otranto Road Regional Children's Department to participate in a program or two (or all)!

Babygarten
Mondays, May 6 at 10:30 a.m.
For 0-18 months with adult
Babygarten is a class designed for infants and their caregivers where they will share nursery rhymes, songs and books in a language rich environment.  
 
Wee Reads
Mondays, May 13 at 10:30 a.m. (Library closed May 27)
For 0-23 months with adult
Age appropriate stories, flannel board and finger plays. 
 
Time for Twos
Tuesdays, May 7, 14 at 10:30 a.m.
for two year olds with adult  
Child must be two by start date
Age appropriate stories, flannelboard and finger plays.
 
Preschool Storytime
Wednesdays, May 1, 8, 15 at 10:30 a.m.
Child must be three by start date

Pirate Tales for Children & Families - Charleston’s Golden Age of Piracy
Eric Lavender of Charleston Pirate Tours, along with his parrot, Captain Bob, will present a bevy of pirate tales and interactive fun. This lively after school program includes telling of local pirate lore, ghost stories, an overview of Charleston’s pirate history, as well as balloon art, photos with Bob, and a little education on exotic birds. Come explore how piracy impacted Charles Towne with this dynamic duo!  (Sponsored by the North Charleston Arts Festival)

SATURDAY PROGRAMS

Saturday, May 11 at 1 p.m.
World Music for Children & Families – Citizens of the World
Seona McDowell, two time winner of Australia’s OZ Music Award for best female folk singer, will delight audiences with her wide repertoire of traditional and contemporary tunes from around the world played on guitar and autoharp. This lively program celebrates the similarities and differences of people and cultures across the globe through songs and stories and teaches us how to be good world citizens.
